Petr Skála — Essor Solutions

You deal with me, and I build it

Essor Solutions is my company, and I take projects on myself. There is no salesperson making promises, no project manager translating them, and no developer who never spoke to you. It is a practical limit and the main advantage at once: capacity is finite, but nothing gets lost on the way.

What I work on

Information systems, data and reporting

I make my living designing and building business applications, data analysis and reporting — mostly on the Microsoft platform: Dataverse, SharePoint, Power Apps and Power BI, with React and Node.js where the platform is the wrong fit.

Most engagements start the same way: the company has grown, record-keeping has scattered into spreadsheets, and nobody is sure which numbers hold. My job is to turn that into one system that does — and to leave the company able to carry on without me.

↯ To add: how long you have been doing this, which industries you have worked in, and what you did before founding Essor Solutions.

How I work

Four things I hold to

  1. Understand first, propose second

The first meeting is not a presentation. It is mapping how the work actually happens. Without that, any proposal is guesswork.

  2. Say the thing that doesn't sell

If the conversation shows that adjusting an existing tool is enough, or that the problem isn't technical at all, I'll say so. It costs a job in the short term and is the only sensible policy in the long one.

  3. Build so it can be handed over

Standard technology, documentation, portable data. Dependence on one person is a risk even when that person is the supplier.

  4. Deliver in increments

A usable first version as early as possible — not because it's fashionable, but because requirements only ever become clear once people can put their hands on something.

Practical details

Where and how I work

I'm based in Plzeň and work with clients across the Czech Republic — an in-person meeting to start, mostly remote from there. I work in Czech and English.

I most often work with small and medium-sized companies that already pay for Microsoft 365 and want more from it than email and shared folders.

↯ To add if you want it here: typical project size, the industries you know best, certifications, or a LinkedIn link.

An informal conversation

The fastest way to find out whether we are a fit is to describe your situation in your own words.
